I have known pain. I'm sure you have, too.
And we can't compare pain. We just walk through it, try to keep breathing, and hope that one day we will emerge on the other side, still able to function, and a better person for it.
If you're going through a rough time, How Big Is Your Umbrella? can help. When we're angry we often yell at God. There's nothing wrong with that; He can take it. I think most of the Psalms involve David yelling at God. But once we're all yelled out, God often whispers back. This little book talks about that back and forth we have with God--us accusing, Him whispering--and brings us to a place where we can just let Him carry us.
If you're going through a difficult time, or if you have a friend whose hurting and you don't know what to say, read it. I think it will help.
